In a former school building in Mariupol military officers are training local residents in urban warfare.

Yousur Al-Hlou and I spent a day at a training where women and men of different ages and professions--accountants, teachers, factory workers--learn to use Kalashnikov rifle, and provide first medical aid. They feel the threat of Russian troops invading, and prepare to defend their city.
